hpg Plastics GmbH is taking another step towards sustainable construction and transparent product data:
Verified Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) in accordance with ISO 14025 and EN 15804 are now available for the company’s five-layer PE-RT heating pipes.

These EPDs provide planners, developers and auditors with reliable environmental data to support the sustainable planning of buildings and building services engineering (HVAC systems).

Transparent Life Cycle Assessment

The Environmental Product Declarations document the life cycle assessment of the PE-RT pipes over their entire lifecycle (“cradle-to-grave”) and provide quantified data on:

  • Primary energy demand from renewable and non-renewable resources

  • Environmental impacts, such as global warming potential (GWP) and acidification potential (AP)

  • Recycling and end-of-life scenarios

This provides a reliable data basis for sustainable construction projects and environmentally responsible building design.

Relevance for DGNB, LEED and BREEAM

Products with EPD verification can be directly integrated into international green building certification systems, including DGNB, LEED and BREEAM.

Verified environmental product data is also an important factor in the evaluation and eligibility of projects within the German QNG certification (Quality Seal for Sustainable Buildings).

Proven Technical Performance – Transparent Environmental Data

Alongside improved sustainability documentation, PE-RT heating pipes from hpg Plastics continue to deliver proven technical performance:

  • 5-layer composite pipe with EVOH oxygen barrier in accordance with DIN 4726

  • Operating temperatures up to 90 °C (short-term) with high flexibility for easy installation

  • Certified service life of at least 50 years
